People who say you cannot like X thing in media and be a feminist. I swear to god if I get one more question that states “Do you know Disney is sexist” or see someone I follow get a similar question I am going to fucking scream. All fucking forms of media are sexist. There are very few things in media that are not sexist. Guess what? We do know what we consume is sexist, racist, heterosexist, etc. We fucking get the media we consume is problematic as hell. Most feminist critique media. I love the Big Bang Theory and it wouldn’t have passed the damn Bechdel Test until last season. It would not have passed the test until its 4th fucking season. Its fucking sexist and racist and problematic as hell. I am well aware of that but I still enjoy the show. You might be able to claim the Little Mermaid passes the test because Ariel talks to her sisters in the movie. I also really like Taylor Swift. I’ve been listening to her since I was in high school. She promotes girl on girl hate, slut shaming, and is rather possessive of her boyfriends. Do I know she is problematic? Yes. Does that make me any less of a feminist for liking these things? Fuck no. If you seriously think liking anything these things makes me or any feminist who likes them less of a feminist, get off your high horse before it bucks you off and unfollow me.
btw: I’m not going to stop posting about Disney, so deal with it.
